Los Angeles recently welcomed the exhibition "ITALIA GENIALE. design enables - Beauty, originality, creativity of the universally appreciated industrial design" presented by Vice-Minister Valentino Valentini. iGuzzini is present in the exhibition with the display of a fundamental design icon in the history of the company from Recanati: Le Perroquet, the pendant luminaire designed by Renzo Piano for the renovation of the Beaubourg in 2000.
Organised by the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy and the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the ADI Design Museum, the exhibition accompanies the world tour of the Amerigo Vespucci and will touch the cities of Tokyo, Darwin, Singapore, Mumbai, Abu-Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah and Durres at the beginning of 2025. Curated by Carlo Martino and Francesco Zurlo, with visual identity by studio SM5, it is the result of a collaboration between companies, institutions, historical archives, museums, designers and private collectors.
Valentini described 'Italia Geniale' as a celebration of Italian talent, creativity and technology, an example of how Made in Italy combines innovation and tradition. Luciano Galimberti, President of ADI, added that the exhibition represents a 'planetary dialogue' and a journey through the technological and relational evolution of Italian design.
The exhibition, already presented at the Dubai Expo in 2021 and at Palazzo Piacentini in 2022, continues to evolve. The current version includes images, materials and iconic products of Sistema Italia, highlighting how Italian design and creativity improve people's lives through everyday objects that have become iconic and are ambassadors of Made in Italy everywhere.
